New Version of General Terms and Conditions for the ShareIt Affiliate Program

ShareIt’s new “General Terms and Conditions for the Affiliate Program” will enter into force on October 25, 2006. From this date on, these terms and conditions will regulate the contractual relationship between Digital River GmbH, their Software Publishers and Affiliates who utilize this service.

Due to the change of ShareIt’s business model from a Service Provider Model to a Reseller Model in May 2006, the General Terms and Conditions were slightly modified to reflect the new business model.

The current General Terms and Conditions displayed in the Control Panel at https://cp.shareit.com/shareit/cp/login/ will be valid until October 24, 2006. Please click Manage partners > Affiliate Management > Premium > General Terms and Conditions.

New ShareIt Order Process Payment Method - Giropay and Nordea Solo

In Germany, roughly 30 million checking accounts are managed online today, so online banking is a well-established payment method in Germany. In addition, nearly 17 million online banking customers are already using giropay. Now Share-It!offers your German customers the option to easily, securely and quickly remit payment for their order.

After selecting euro as their billing currency and giropay as their payment method, customers enter their bank code and account number so ShareIt can verify whether the customer’s bank is connected to the giropay process. If this is the case, after submitting their order, customers will be redirected to their bank’s Web site to initiate the online wire transfer. ShareIt Expanded Control Panel Security Center: Block IP Addresses

In addition to the option of accessing the ShareIt Control Panel via specific IP addresses or IP address ranges, you can now define IP addresses or IP address ranges that should have no access to the Control Panel. To access these settings, go to Administration > Security Center > IP Addresses in the ShareIt Control Panel.

Updating of ShareIt Backup CD Files

If you have already provided ShareIt a Backup CD file, you will soon be able to easily update this file yourself. Your current file must follow a specified naming convention and be MD5 checksum protected. As soon as you have uploaded the new file to your publisher directory on ShareIt server via FTP, ShareIt will take care of the rest of the process in the background. Customers should be able to access the updated file in one business day.

ShareIt Changed Contract to Reseller Model

On May 1, 2006, changes will become effective in the business relationship between you and ShareIt: The reseller model will replace the service provider model that was valid up to now. You can access and explicitly accept the new contract by visiting ShareIt Control Panel > Signup > Developer contract.

ShareIt Control Panel in Russian and Simplified Chinese

If your native language is Russian or Chinese, you will soon have the option of viewing all text and features in ShareIt Control Panel, your comprehensive information management tool, in Russian or Simplified Chinese. The future language choices offered for the ShareIt Control Panel will be German, English, Russian and Simplified Chinese.

New ShareIt Control Panel Security Features

You can now find the advanced security measures in a centralized location in the Control Panel by going to Administration > Security Center. Effective immediately, you can go to this location to change your password using encrypted technology, view log-in protocols and set your IP addresses and/or IP address areas.

In the log-in protocol overview, you can view the length of Control Panel sessions, and which user ID and IP address were used to access the Control Panel. Failed log-ins due to incorrect information entered will also be displayed.

The entry mask allows you to easily enter IP addresses and IP address areas with exclusive access to the Control Panel.

“Why do I have to pay so much VAT/sales tax?” A survey conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute indicates that customers from the European Union often wonder why they have to pay a certain amount of VAT/sales tax.
